Opsando Lay-by terms

Lay-by lets you pay for selected products over time. You reserve the product with a deposit, then pay the balance by the end of your payment term.

How it works

  1. Pay a 10% deposit at checkout. This reserves your product. It counts toward your lay-by balance.
  2. Pay the balance within your payment term. Your term is shown at checkout. Pay by buying Store Credit top-ups. Each top-up has a face value, and its value is added to your Store Credit balance once your order is confirmed.
  3. We ship once you have paid in full. When your Store Credit balance equals your lay-by balance, we mark your lay-by as paid. We then release the product for shipment.

Interest

There is no interest added on lay-by unless otherwise stated. We tell you before you confirm your order whether it applies and how much.

Price lock

The price of your product is locked for the whole repayment period. Later price changes do not affect your lay-by order.

Shipping and any taxes or duties we collect at checkout are calculated when you place your lay-by order and are included in your lay-by balance. Duties assessed by a customs authority on import remain payable by you.

Store Credit

Store Credit is a general balance. You can use it on any product. Credit you spend elsewhere no longer counts toward your lay-by.

Stock

Lay-by products depend on stock. We make reasonable efforts to set aside your selected product. Supplier limits, stock shortages or product discontinuation can still happen.

If your product becomes unavailable, we may offer you:

  • a similar or equivalent product of equal or greater value, or
  • a full refund of all payments made, returned to you as Store Credit only.

Payment inactivity

We may cancel your lay-by if either of these happens:

  • You make no payment for 60 days in a row.
  • Your balance is not fully paid by the end of your payment term.

If we cancel:

  • Your lay-by agreement ends.
  • The product is released back into available stock.
  • The cancellation terms below apply.

Cancelling

You can ask to cancel any time before your product ships.

  • A cancellation fee of 20% of the total product price may apply. It comes out of the payments you have made, deposit included.
  • If your payments do not cover the fee, we write off the rest and you owe nothing more.
  • Any balance left may be refunded as Store Credit or to your original payment method, at our choice.

After it ships

Once your product has shipped, our returns and warranty terms apply as for any other order. Any refund is returned to you as Store Credit.

Changes

We may update these lay-by terms. Updates apply to new lay-by orders. Orders already placed keep the terms that applied when they were placed.
